Spring Migration Gay & Lesbian Festival Yackandandah organisers today received a Certificate of Achievement Award presented by Prime Television &  The Weekly Times.

The Festival had it’s fourth year in 2008 and was a huge success attracting over 2500 people to the sleepy little hamlet of Yackandandah in North East Victoria, Australia.

The organisers Gary Hayward and Andy Stevens said “each of the festivals has been fantastic and 2008 attracted record crowds with many local husband and wives attending as well as the broader gay & lesbian community, creating a fantastic mix of people who just wanted to get on with it and have a great party”  “this they did and now to get this recognition via an Achievement Award is just the icing on the cake.”

With fantastic drag shows and live performances, featuring Tibetan Buddhist Monks performing their Traditional Dancing, along with DJ. Miss Eleni from Melbourne and DJ. Gazbear from Yackandandah and our local artists supplying their works for the Art Show not to mention the many stallholders at this year’s “Whose yer Daddy Fathers Day Market.  This has become a proven record for a great and very friendly event.  The only one of it’s kind ever to be held in North East Victoria.

We’d like to thank all the performers Aida and her Dancers – The Cluless Drag Show – DJ. Miss Eleni – DJ. Gazbear – The Tibetan Buddhist Monks Troupe – The Bar Staff – Albury Sound and Lighting – Indigo Shire – Yackandandah Tourism – and our many Sponsors (check the webpage for the long list at http://www.springmigration.com.au
